A New Nazareth
The Sisters of Nazareth are committed to the re-establishment of their ministry in New Zealand
and construction is now underway to establish a vibrant community of care on the Nazareth land at Brougham Street, Christchurch.
Ground remediation works have been completed to an exceptional standard.
Construction has commenced on an exciting new development which will, for the first time in Australasia, see the Sisters of Nazareth offering retirement living as well as rest home and hospital care.
Our master plan for the Christchurch site incorporates
- an 80 bed rest home and hospital care facility
- a 20 bed dementia specific care facility
- a service block
- a convent
- a chapel
- a market place of community health and other services
- and 62 two and three bedroom Licence to Occupy villas.
The complex sits within spacious landscaped grounds. It incorporates design features that are intended to future-proof the new development and to cater for future populations.
The building programme is well underway and residents have already moved into the first stage of our premium Licence to Occupy villas.
Construction of the aged care facility is progressing well, and the facility will be fully operational at the end of this year.
Heritage will be a strong design feature
with the re-use of the marble altar and stained glass windows which have been salvaged from the original chapel.
