New Sensory Garden at Fahan

Sr Philomena ready to cut the ribbon

The rain held off for the opening of the Sensory Garden in Fahan last Wednesday May 31st. The Sister’s prayers were heard. It was a lovely afternoon with over 80 visitors - and our residents really enjoyed a full afternoon of entertainment. Sr Philomena (Sister of Mercy) who is our eldest resident cut the ribbon.

Fr Neil McGoldrick and Rev Judy McGaffin

Father Neil McGoldrick PP and Reverend Judy McGaffin blessed the Garden.

This was followed by a summer buffet, cake, live music, songs and dancing. The staff pulled out all the stops to make it a memorable occasion. Laura Martyn did great work organising the event. Sister Bernadette and Wilma D’Souza, our Director of Nursing worked tirelessly to make this dream garden become a reality. The local community and staff raised almost €22,000 towards the cost of the gardenfor which we are extremely grateful. Well done to all and thank you.

Almost time to cut the ribbon

Music for all Ages

Staff and residents of Nazareth House Fahan were delighted to welcome Lyric FM Quartet last Monday May 8th for an engaging and entertaining RTÉ lyric fm outreach programme of live music performances.

Music for all Ages

With Lough Swilly shimmering in glorious sunshine in the background, the RTÉ Lyric FM Quartet played their hearts out to the delight of our residents, many, many visitors, Sisters and staff in Nazareth House Fahan.

What an afternoon of sheer joy for everyone listening to live classical music reverberating throughout the House - helped with a teensy “high brow” glass of sherry. Well done to all involved.
