About Us

In 1930 the Sisters of Nazareth were invited to Mallow by the Health Authority to provide a better quality of life for a large number of long stay residents in the County Home (now Mallow Hospital). Since then Nazareth House has provided high quality care for the people of North Cork and further afield. We are proud of this heritage and today, this mission of care and education continues with the able assistance of a Nazareth Care professional team.

The Nursing Home accommodates 85 residents with 125 members of staff providing round the clock Nursing, Respite and Palliative care.

Spiritual Needs

  • The spiritual needs of all denominations are catered for by our Chaplain, the Sisters and other ministers.
  • An option of Holy Mass is available twice daily
  • The Sisters are available to provide support and comfort for residents and for relatives during times of bereavement.

Social Activities

There is a special ‘bond’ with the Sisters and the local people which is very evident – some describe Nazareth House as a ‘Hallowed Place’.  We are fortunate that many professional and voluntary organizations provide for the social and recreational needs of the residents - including therapy dogs.
