Music, animals and children are a big part of the recreational menu at Nazareth House Fresno.
Activities Director April Cavanaugh has lots of good ideas to develop new programs and motivate residents to keep busy and stay as independent as possible.
The most important part of her job is to engage residents -- body, mind and spirit. “It’s important that residents feel like someone is listening,” she said.
“I want them to feel connected to this community, both to the staff and other residents. They have a sense of purpose and involvement in what is happening in their lives each and every day and I am here to support them.”
Card playing groups, book club, walking group, gardening, music participation, bingo and other social activities are tailored to our residents.
