Alice Lynch, RN
Alice has been a valued employee of Nazareth House San Rafael since 1996. Her responsibilities have included nursing, MDS Coordinator, and social services for the facility.
As Executive Director, Alice is responsible for the overall management and the day-to-day operations of Nazareth House.
Alice grew up in a large, devout Catholic family in county Kilkenny, Ireland. Trained as a nurse in Dublin, she moved to California in 1987. She worked at Stanford Medical Center and at Marin General Hospital.
“Nazareth House community offers a vibrant, caring atmosphere, with love and respect for one another,” described Alice. “My life has been enriched by being a part of it all.”
Rowena Johnson, LVN
Coordinator, Care Center
Rowena has served on the staff of Nazareth House for 20+ years. Born in the Philippines, Rowena immigrated with her family to the United States.
Rowena worked as a housekeeper and later trained as a CNA, working in that capacity at Nazareth House for 13 years. She attributes her developing skills as a caregiver to the encouragement of the Sisters of Nazareth with whom she worked. Motivated by Sister M. Kevin and armed with the tenacity to do well, Rowena graduated with High Honors in the LPN Program from Napa Valley College.
Rowena says “This is my home away from home. I love my job.”
Lupe says, “This is my family. The residents are engaged and happy and well cared for. I have learned so much from them too, by observing their paths through life and interacting with them as individuals. I could work here forever.”
Food Service Supervisor
Irma is responsible for the day to day running of the food service and kitchen. Soon after arriving here from Mexico as a teenager, Irma joined Nazareth House. She has worked nearly 30 years at the House.
“This is my second home,” said Irma. “I was married here at the Chapel, baptized my children here; then my children were married here and they’ve baptized their children here. I love the Sisters, the place and the people.”
Lynetta Matteo, MBA, OTR
The newest addition to our staff, Lynetta joins us in Community Relations and is quickly becoming an integral part of the family. Lynetta began her career as an Occupational Therapist and has been involved in marketing, operations and management of various health care and non-profit organization in her 30+ year career.
“It has been my pleasure to join Nazareth House and I am thoroughly enjoying helping the residents, welcoming new people into the community, and working closely with the great staff.”
